Project Description

Project Overview

Have you ever dreamed of living in a Tuscan villa? A recent trip to the region, left our clients besotted over the architecture and feel of this special region in Italy, so when they decided to increase their living and recreational space at their home in Ruxton to accommodate the many friends and family members who were constantly staying with them, they reached out to us to to help make their new space reminiscent of Tuscany.

This project was as close to a custom build as it comes without starting from an empty lot. Working through different elevations was one of the most complicated aspects of the project. There were additions, a kitchen, patios and a pool that needed to be fitted on to an already nicely sized home, all at different elevations.

Reminiscent of Tuscany

In typical fashion, Smithouse worked tirelessly to make the construction a smooth process for this very busy family. Project Manager, JP Pototschnik, fondly remembers “helping decorate the construction space” for a holiday party his clients were determined to have amidst the building zone. He had to place construction stabilizers all over to ensure guests’ safety during the holiday party.

In the end, everyone on the project team was really pleased with the outcome. The home maintained its classic look but with the beautiful, subtle Tuscan touches the client was striving for.

“All the workmen made every effort to construct a project to be proud of in a timely fashion. Everyone was attentive to our needs/concerns as the homeowner. We were kept in the loop during every phase and “glitch” of the project so that we did not question the honesty of all involved. Smithouse created some beautiful spaces for us!”
