Project Description

Project Overview

Once upon a time, this home was a church!

Even though the property had been through a number of renovations over the years, the current owners decided the kitchen needed a boost.

Smithouse proposed a more contemporary look to lighten up the kitchen. We removed heavy, dark ceiling beams and added new windows to increase the light.

Once a Church

Interesting design nuances to this kitchen included a sliding, tiled backsplash we created to hide small electric appliances they used on a regular basis. We also introduced floating shelves on the sink wall providing an “airy” storage solution that synched with our goals of lightening up the overall space.

Our clients were excited to continue making memories in their newly renovated home. The family created a time capsule (whose contents we were not privy to) and had us bury it in a wall!

This was definitely a first for us!
