As we close out the year, I find myself reflecting with deep gratitude on what it means to reach 20 years in the building and remodeling industry. It’s a milestone few companies achieve, and one we don’t take lightly.
Ours is an industry defined by creativity, craftsmanship, and constant change — and also one that’s incredibly difficult to sustain over time. According to research from the Harvard Remodeling Futures Program and the Better Business Bureau,
- Only 40% of remodeling companies make it past five years.
- Just 10% reach ten years.
- And only 5% endure for twenty.
Today, Smithouse stands in that top 5%. That achievement isn’t about longevity alone — it’s about trust, relationships, and the collective effort of the people who make up our Smithouse community.
