Hey guys, welcome back to In the Field with JP. As a reminder, I’m going to be taking you around to different jobs every week and checking in on production as they go. You’re going to see a lot of different jobs and a lot of different phases of progress.
Today, we’re out at our Sparks job. It’s a master suite that a homeowner needed help reconfiguring. Let’s go inside and check it out.
So the client here came to us with two concerns. One was functionality and two was a new aesthetic. This was a bathroom that had probably first been done in the early ’90s and it had some unique design components—some large glass block walls and a big jacuzzi tub in the center of the room, which was pretty common for that period.
They wanted more space, a larger vanity, a larger shower, and a fresh aesthetic. As you can see, our design team really knocked it out of the park with the look. And as far as functionality, we were able to increase the size of the shower, expand the vanity space, and even leave the middle of the floor more open for ease of movement. We also completely enclosed the toilet room for privacy. All in all, a home run in my mind.
The other component of this project that was on the wish list was the closet. The homeowners were hoping to get more storage, although they couldn’t really see a way to accomplish that with the original configuration. Our design team came in and saw a bunch of unused space. This was previously kind of an antechamber to the bathroom with an opening that looked over the first-floor room. Our team saw an opportunity and created this new closet space.
Now they have shelving here, plus we created a new walkway into their existing closet. Before, this area was open and looked down into the living room, but now they have enclosed shelving. Going back into the original closet, we reconfigured the space so now they have drawer storage, more shelving, and more hanging opportunities. All in all, a lot more closet—which I think they’re thrilled with.
Well, that’s a wrap on this one for today. I look forward to coming back in a couple of weeks to see the final product. Don’t forget to check back next week so we can look at another project.
