In this episode of In the Field with JP, we return to our Sparks project, now entering the home stretch. Over the past couple of weeks, the space has transformed with new countertops, a first coat of paint, hardware installation, and final lighting fixtures.
We’re in the details now—fine-tuning finishes, adjusting drawer reveals, and touching up paint to ensure everything is perfect. The homeowners also decided to remove some old picture molding, which we incorporated into the project while wrapping things up. With glass installation scheduled for next week, this renovation is nearly complete.
Join us for a look at the finishing touches that bring a project together. One more visit here and this job will be ready to reveal!
VIDEO TRANSCRIPT:
Hey guys, welcome back to JP In the Field. We’re back out here at our Sparks project. If you remember, this one was getting close to the end last time. It’s been a couple of weeks — let’s see where we are now.
We’re back inside our Sparks job, and what a difference a couple of weeks makes. We’ve got countertops installed, our first coat of paint on, and now we’re dialing in finishes. Hardware is going up, final lights are in place, and now we can do a final check on the walls, fix any imperfections, and continue moving through. Looking forward to glass coming in next week — this one’s getting close.
We’re in paint here, and what a difference it makes. This color really pops — it’s called Silver Tip Sage for those of you who like it as much as I do. We’re heading into the closet now as we enter final punch in this area. With all of the closet now spray-finished, this is the time we start putting on all our hardware and get real particular about our drawer reveals. We want nice, clean lines running both ways so everything tracks evenly. We’ll also take one more look at the paint to make sure there are no blemishes that need touch-ups before we wrap up.
As often happens on a job, once things get going, the homeowner starts looking around and noticing other updates they’d like to make. Here, we had some old picture molding on the wall that they decided they’d rather do without. Since we were already here, we were happy to roll that in and get it done while the project was underway.
That does it for this one today. We’ll probably have one more visit here before we’re done. Don’t forget to tune in next week — we’ll be out at another one.
