Our clients in Mays Chapel came to us with a clear intention: to transform their new townhome into a true forever home, one that felt both deeply personal and effortlessly functional. The existing kitchen, long overdue for reinvention, lacked the flow, character, and efficiency they envisioned. Our first move was to redefine the way the spaces connected. By closing the kitchen off from the den and opening it generously to the sunroom and dining room, we created a natural circulation that finally allowed the home to breathe.
With the side walls now dedicated to cabinetry, we carved out enough space for a hardworking island and reimagined the cooking zone as a streamlined, intuitive workspace. Every element is within reach, designed for ease and daily joy. A printed marble tile backsplash at the cooktop serves as a striking focal point, artful, unexpected, and a reflection of our client’s playful embrace of color. Custom Visual Comfort pendants hang above the island, grounding the entire room with warmth and refinement.
The kitchen flows seamlessly into the new sunroom, which is the softest pale blue, an enveloping, color-drenched retreat that shifts beautifully with the light. On the first floor, we also carved out a new primary bathroom for guests. A hidden linen closet tucked into the vestibule adds secret storage, while a full reconfiguration of the layout allowed us to introduce a spacious vanity, generous shower, and private water closet. Marble tile flows through the space, lending an elegant, cohesive quietude. The vanity’s blue finish echoes subtly in the shower’s tile, creating a thoughtful rhythm of color.
In contrast, the powder room became our chance to lean into drama. Wrapped in a deep, moody wallpaper and punctuated with bold brass fixtures, the space feels like a jewelry box, compact, glamorous, and delightfully unexpected.
We created a new primary suite upstairs. What was a small shared bath became a true primary ensuite. In the bath, a classic black-and-white basketweave marble floor sets the tone, complemented by a clawfoot tub, walnut cabinetry, and brass accents. One of the client’s hopes was to add a secondary full bath for their granddaughter, and we delivered by transforming an unused closet in the guest room into a charming, fully realized bathroom clad in cloud-like blue tile, whimsical yet serene.
Throughout the home, color becomes the thread that ties everything together. Our clients were unafraid to be bold, and each room reflects its own sense of joy and personality while maintaining harmony across the entire renovation. The result is a home that feels cohesive, spirited, and deeply attuned to the people who live there, a forever home in every sense.
